WHew! I have been a frequent visitor to MJF. Stopping by and reading posts for a few years now, and totally inspired. It wasn't until today I saw "Out there" women. I am glad I did.

I grew up with RV's, ski boats, desert lakes, jet skis, generators, movies in the trailer. I married a man who had a much simpler view of recreation, if fact a good pair of hiking boots and enough water was the most important. I liked this "new idea" .Everything about him was much simpler, and I love him for that. He gave me a new appreciation for trails, mountians, trees, lakes. Looking more towards the little details around us and not missing out. Before I would think pack up home and replicate it at a lake somewhere. Now it's how can we enjoy the beauty of this planet and partake without disturbing. Before we had children it was all about the destination and after children it was about standing in one spot and seeing everything we could see from just that one spot. Richer, fuller.

Now life has gone on, work, kids. We don't get to do and be all the things we want or have time for. I just came to a fork in the road. If I want something to happen or for our lives to be different, I have to make it happen. I have to choose a differnet path. So today I choose to go in the other direction and make more time in our lives for the things that drew me to that man. I was inspired here today on this forum and have a renewed sense of direction for our life. It's just that simple.

Will be back around the forum to glean from those who are living it out. Thanks for having me.

Theresa

Theresa-

Wow, I loved reading your post. Very inspiring. I think you hit the nail on the head. For those of us who want to see more of the richer and fuller moments in life- we have to make it happen _now_ not tommorrow. And we can't sit around and wait for someone else to make it happen for us! We have to take it into our own hands.

I can't wait to hear more about you and the adventures you are going to create with this new determination!

Welcome Theresa, Glad you adopted your husband's "new idea". It's a great way to go. Been doing it for years and I mean years. Both my children (now grown adults) have embraced it also. I hope on these beautiful fall days you grab the kids and husband and enjoy a simple stroll. JoAnn

Welcome, Theresa, and please do come by often. I can relate perfectly to your situation - trying to keep all the hustle and bustle of kids/school/work in perspective and make time for the things that count. Nothing reminds me like stepping outside.
Talk to you again soon,
Jen
