Posted - Oct 07 2010 : 03:50:06 AM Last year my husband got a nice Buck opening day. My first time helping skin and butcher. I kept the hide and scrapped it but it just got really stiff. What do i need to do to keep this years and not have it stiff and hard as a rock? |

If you want your hide to stay soft and supple you would need to have it processed. I know that when my dad and I shot a deer we scrapped the hide and then but borax and salt on it (really heavy) until we took it to the processor.
