Posted - Nov 12 2008 : 04:25:42 AM I'm taking my Girl Scout troop camping in December. Granted we will be in a cabin - but many of these girls have never been camping. (One of my leaders has never been camping either)
I'm excited to take them out. Looking forward to some campfires (as long as we don't get any winter rain) taking some hikes and enjoying some good food.
Any ideas for winter hiking activities? There is a great herd of deer at camp that I'm hoping we can track. Owls are plentiful as well. Not sure if we'll be able to hear them or not. We can in the summer at Mom & me weekend when we're in our tents.
I'm so excited!

Posted - Nov 13 2008 : 11:39:03 AM That will be fun, Deb - especially because these girls are new to camping. Here are a couple of sites with some neat ideas:

Posted - Nov 12 2008 : 07:43:50 AM Deb, What fun! Just make sure that the girls are coached on how to dress. It also doesn't hurt to throw in some extra hats/gloves etc. you might have on had. Can't wait to hear about how it went. Happy Camping! JoAnn
