I've posted before that our local paper has been running a "who will find the first buttercup" contest for years. Note that we are in a northern part of the country. It has been found as early as the end of January. This year with the below normal temps. and above average snow one wondered whether or not it would ever be found. Well it was found last Sunday, March 8 at Evans campground on Lake Roosevelt (aka Columbia River) the climate is milder there due to the fact it's near the water and at lower elevation. So if I want spring I will wander down to the Lake (probably 12 miles away) not hard to do it's a beautiful drive. JoAnn
