I have had and used my boots for many, many years and now the patches are needing new patches. I finally broke down and bought another pair of boots. I don't like them as well as the older ones and have only worn them sparadically. It is hard to say good by to the old.
I need to buy new hiking boots- but I have the same problem. The new ones never feel as comfy or as capable as the old ones. Saying goodbye to a good pair of hiking boots can be like saying goodbye to a good friend!
I agree. My favorite was a pair of Vasques, actually given to me (used) by a friend. Even a bit broken in by other feet, they fit so gently on mine! Oh, how comfy they were. To make a long, sad story short, my hub & I had a bunch of shoes stored in a trash bag when we first moved to Naches, WA, and you can guess what happened. Chris threw the bag (which included his cowboy boots & lots of kids shoes too) out with the rest of the trash one day, and that was the end of my too-brief love affair with those boots....
Oh No Jen! That is horrible!! I am going to tie a ribbon or something around the top of the "keep" trash bags next time we move because I can totally see that happening to us!
