In preparation for dissection, scientists in New Zealand have begun the delicate two-day task of defrosting the biggest squid ever caught—a rare colossal squid, or Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni.
Isn't that thing amazing?!?!?! The other day, my little one was asking about squids and we looked up photos on the internet and saw that monster. It really DOES give 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea some credence, eh?
