Hey! My name is Farrah and I am known as keeperofthehome on MJF forum. My goal is to spend more time outdoors since I did not grow up doing such. I also want to instill a love for nature to my boys. I look forward to learning from everyone!

Being outdoors is so rejuvenating! What type of outdoorsy things do you have in your area? Do you have any National Parks/ Preserves? What are you main interests or things you want to learn about? Do you like photography or painting, camping maybe?
We live within walking distance to 2 parks, Chattahoochee River that has rowing, and the Chattahoochee Naturee Center. I am wanting to learn ways to encourage my son's to go outside and play. Plus, my husband loves to be outdoors and I want to be able to find ways of spending time with him that are fun for the both of us.
I'm not big on photography or painting. I was a Girl Scout for 11 years so I did my fair share of camping then, but we do not go now. I'd like to start though for my oldest would love it.
Thank y'all for asking me!

One idea I was thinking- are you close to a college or community college or university? Sometimes you can sign up to take outdoor classes through school. I have taken several two of which have been skiing and backpacking. They were awesome learning experiences and lots of fun!
Hi Farrah! Welcome to the forum! Sorry I have been away from the computer for the past couple of days with a sick baby or I would have welcomed you sooner! It sounds like you have great place to get acquainted with the outdoors! Do you ever do picnics? Do your sons play Folf (Frisbee Golf)?
Welcome, Farrah! This forum is ever-expanding with such great ideas and insights from ladies with all levels of outdoor experience. You're in good company!
